Blue Couch
A popular choice for Queensland gardens. Blue couch is widely naturalised throughout the coastal areas of Northern New South Wales and Queensland and is best adapted to sandy and acidic soils.
It can tolerate low soil fertility, but responds well to added fertiliser.
It has good drought and wear tolerance, but is not recommended for shady areas.
It grows best in full sun areas and thrives if watered and fertilised regularly.
It is a medium-textured turf and is soft underfoot. it responds well to being mown short (15-30mms)
One advantage of this grass is that it does not produce underground rhizomes and is therefore less invasive of garden beds.
This variety of grass is well suited to lawns, bowling greens and sports fields.
Blue couch is the ideal turf for the sunny areas around your house such as the front yard and entertaining areas, as a beautiful dark lawn is achieved year round with a minimal amount of lawn maintenance

Winter Green
Used for many years in Queensland - this variety grows very quickly and is distinguished by it's lush green colour during the summer months and retains high colour throughout the winter months, if fertilised. it makes a beautiful home lawn Australia wide.
Durable, it can withstand heavy traffic due to it's higher density
Tolerates a wide range of soils and environmnet
Thrives best in sunny areas - requires about 7 hours of sunlight a day
Tolerant of medium shade, it has excellent cold and frost tolerance
Excellent drought tolerance
Fine to medium texture, soft and comfortable
Likes to be mown short - cut a a height of approximately 25-30mm during summer and 3-35mm in winter
Likes water every 3-5 days in summer - less in cooler months
Deep infrequent watering promotes a healthier lawn and it requires fertiliser to stay at it's best during the winter
Cost effective for large areas
Wintergreen is used extensively on home lawns and areas that receive heavy traffic such as council parks, estates and golf courses throughout Queensland.
